How long does a mechanical service usually take?
Most mechanical movement services are completed within 5–10 working days. Older calibres or those with worn parts may take a little longer — we'll let you know at intake if anything looks like it could extend the timeline.
Do I need an appointment to drop off my watch?
Walk-ins are welcome during opening hours. If you'd like a specific consultation slot — especially for older or more complex pieces — sending a message in advance means we can give you our full attention at the bench.
What does the written condition note include?
The note covers the condition found at intake, work carried out (parts cleaned, lubricated, or replaced), and the timing result for mechanical pieces. It's a short document you can keep with the watch.
Can you service vintage watches or unusual calibres?
We work on a wide range of calibres, including older hand-wound movements and watches made before service documentation was widely available. If parts are no longer manufactured, we'll discuss your options honestly before any work starts.
Is the quoted price fixed before work begins?
The service prices listed cover the standard work described. If we find anything beyond the scope at inspection — such as a damaged wheel or corroded contact — we'll contact you with what was found and the cost before proceeding. Nothing is added without your agreement.
What crystals do you use for replacements?
We match the crystal type to the original specification where possible — sapphire for watches originally fitted with sapphire, and high-quality mineral glass for others. We'll discuss the options if the original type is uncertain.
