Brought in my grandfather's Seiko 5 that had been sitting in a drawer for years. They assessed it, explained what needed doing, and gave me a written note with the timing result when I collected. It's been running within a few seconds a day ever since — genuinely better than I expected for a watch of that age.

Had a Tissot quartz that I'd been putting off sorting for months. The battery and gasket service was done in two days. The case came back properly sealed — previous places I've tried just drop a new battery in without checking anything else. Worth the slightly longer trip across the city.

My Omega had a deep scratch across the crystal and the case looked quite worn. They replaced the crystal with proper sapphire and did light case refinishing — the result is exactly what I was hoping for. It still looks like a used watch, not like it just left the factory. That's the right outcome for a piece with some history.

Sent an enquiry by email first — they replied the same day with clear questions about the watch and what I was noticing. Dropped it off the following week. The condition note was a nice touch; I've kept it with the documentation for the watch. Turnaround was seven working days, as quoted.

I had an old Hamilton that was running quite erratically. They serviced it and found that the mainspring was weaker than ideal — contacted me before doing anything about it, explained the options and the cost. I approved the additional work and the watch is now running considerably better. Fair and straightforward throughout.

A Casio my father wore for years needed a battery and had some chips in the acrylic crystal. They replaced both and did light refinishing on the case. It's not a valuable watch in monetary terms but it matters to us, and they treated it the same way they would something more expensive. That says something.

Case Studies
Pieces and what they needed
Case Study 01
1972 hand-wound pocket watch conversion
The situation
A pocket watch from a client's grandfather, converted to a wristwatch in the 1980s with an aftermarket lug attachment. Movement had not been serviced in over 20 years and was running roughly 8 minutes per day fast.
What was done
Full movement service — disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, fresh lubricants appropriate to the calibre age, and regulation. A worn click spring was identified during inspection; client was contacted and approved replacement.
Outcome
Post-service timing: +12 seconds/day in dial-up position. Collection with full condition note and timing record. 8 working days total.
"I didn't expect it to run this well at its age. The condition note is now filed with the original pocket watch documentation."
Case Study 02
Diver with cracked crystal and moisture inside case
The situation
A Japanese automatic diver with a cracked crystal — moisture had entered the case. The client was unsure whether the movement had been affected.
What was done
Case opened, movement assessed — light surface oxidation on several components but no functional damage. Full movement service carried out. Crystal replaced with matched sapphire. Gasket renewed and case resealed.
Outcome
Movement running within specification. Case and crystal sealed correctly. Client was able to return to using the watch for swimming without concern. 10 working days total.
"They didn't push me to do anything beyond what was needed. Quoted the mechanical service and crystal separately so I could decide."
Case Study 03
Daily quartz showing erratic timekeeping
The situation
A client's everyday quartz watch had started losing several minutes per week after years of reliable service. The battery was less than a year old.
What was done
Movement inspection found a battery contact with slight corrosion causing intermittent connection. Contact cleaned, battery replaced with correct grade, gasket inspected and renewed, case resealed properly.
Outcome
Watch returned to normal timekeeping — deviation within normal quartz tolerances. Total cost: ฿1,750 THB. 2 working days total.
"I nearly bought a new watch. Glad I didn't — this one has been running fine for three months since the service."
