The Welana approach
Intake assessment
We look at the piece with you — or via message — describe what we find, confirm the service scope and price, and agree a timeline before any work starts.
Service at the bench
Work is carried out using calibre-appropriate lubricants, ultrasonic cleaning, and proper workshop tools. If anything unexpected is found, we contact you before proceeding.
Collection with documentation
The watch is returned with a written condition note covering what was found and what was done — and, for mechanical pieces, the post-regulation timing result.
Service 01
Mechanical Movement Service
A careful full-service for automatic and hand-wound calibres, including gentle disassembly, cleaning, re-lubrication, and precise timing regulation. Suited to daily wearers and cherished older pieces alike, returned with a short written condition note.

Process overview
- 01. Intake inspection — condition assessment and scope confirmation
- 02. Disassembly — careful removal of all movement components
- 03. Ultrasonic cleaning — removal of old lubricants and debris
- 04. Lubrication — appropriate oils applied to each component
- 05. Regulation — timing adjusted and measured on timing machine
- 06. Reassembly and case closure — gasket inspected where applicable
- 07. Collection — watch returned with condition note
Service 02
Quartz & Battery Service
Battery renewal, gasket check, and movement inspection for quartz watches, handled with the same attention as a mechanical service. A tidy option for everyday timepieces that simply need to keep good time again.
- Fresh battery of appropriate type and grade
- Gasket inspection and replacement if degraded
- Movement and contact inspection
- Case reassembly with torque-appropriate closure

Service 03
Crystal & Case Restoration
Replacement of scratched or chipped crystals along with light case and bracelet refinishing to soften years of wear. We keep the character of the piece while gently improving its comfort and clarity.
- Crystal replacement matched to original specification
- Sapphire or mineral glass as appropriate
- Light case refinishing — scratches softened, not erased
- Bracelet cleaning and light refinishing
- Character of piece maintained throughout

Watches with cracked or heavily scratched crystals, or cases and bracelets that could do with careful light refinishing.

Workshop Protocols
Standards across all services
Nothing without agreement
Any finding beyond the agreed service scope is communicated before work continues. The final invoice matches what was agreed at intake.
Correct case handling
Cases are opened and closed with case-appropriate tools. Crown tube threads and case backs receive the correct torque — not wrench-tightened.
Client data handled privately
Contact information collected for service communication is stored securely. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Realistic timelines
Collection dates are given at intake and maintained. If circumstances change, you are contacted — not left waiting without explanation.
Workshop-grade equipment
Ultrasonic cleaner, timing machine, and calibre-specific screwdrivers and oils. Not improvised substitutes.
Final inspection before collection
Before a piece leaves the bench it is checked — crown function, hand alignment, crystal seating, bracelet clasp — and any outstanding point is resolved.
